UTC sets a hearing on four petitions to modify existing highway-rail grade crossings in the City of Lakewood and City of DuPont

The Commission will hold evidentiary hearings beginning Monday, June 7, 2010, at 9:00 a.m., in the City of Lakewood's Council Chambers, 6000 Main Street SW, Lakewood, Washington. As necessary the evidentiary hearing will conclude the following day, Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

The Commission will hold a public comment hearing on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. in Lakewood, Washington. Information on the exact location will be available when a facility has been secured. See, Order 02 for a complete procedural schedule in this matter.

On March 31, 2010, the Commission entered Order 01 in Docket TR-100131. Order 01 consolidates TR-100131 with Dockets TR-100127, TR-100128 and TR-100129, and adopts the established procedural schedule established in Order 02 in Dockets TR-100127, TR-100128, and TR-100129.

NATURE OF PROCEEDINGS:

The Commission received the following four petitions on January 19, 2010:

Docket TR-100127 - Clover Creek Drive SW, City of Lakewood (USDOT Crossing Number 085822W)
Docket TR-100128 - Berkeley Street SW, City of Lakewood (USDOT Crossing Number 085829U)
Docket TR-100129 - North Thorne Lane SW, City of Lakewood (USDOT Crossing Number 085828M)
Docket TR-100131 - Barksdale Avenue, City of DuPont (USDOT Crossing Number 085836E)

Tacoma Rail and South Transit each filed a Waiver of Hearing with the Commission.

The Commission consolidated the three petitions to modify existing highway-rail grade crossings in the City of Lakewood and held a prehearing conference in these matters on March 16, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. (Docket 100127, see "Documents" link below for more information).
